Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking a team member for the Smokehouse department to provide fun, engaging service and build guest relationships in a high-energy setting.

You will interact with guests through samples and story-telling, perform meat prep and occasional cutting tasks, and ensure product quality while upholding sanitation and safety standards. The role requires the ability to multitask and work well with others in a dynamic grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Friendly, energetic personality.
• Ability to actively engage guests and have fun.
• Willingness to perform in front of large crowds and draw attention to the Smokehouse department.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Previous meat cutting/trimming experience.
• Previous culinary knowledge and/or background preferred.
• Ability to read and understand information/directions.
• Knowledge of deli and meat department operations.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Effective communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to take direction from supervision.
• Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

• Provides fun, friendly and engaging service.
• Actively engage guests through Smokehouse samples and story-selling.
• Perform activities outlined in the Pit Master character performance description.
• Operate the department according to merchandising and operational standards.
• Ensure product quality meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guest service as needed.
• Maintain HACCP product information log sheets as necessary.
• Perform light meat cutting duties as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
• Perform PA announcements.
