Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking a hands-on Smokehouse team member to engage guests, present freshly prepared samples, and help run the meat and deli operations with enthusiasm and a strong guest-service focus.

You will perform varied tasks across the department, maintain safety and sanitation, help with merchandising, and support management with routine duties. Must be 18+, capable of lifting 25–50 lbs, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to actively engage guests and be willing to have fun with our guests.
• Willingness to perform in front of large crowd and draw attention to the Smokehouse department.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks, simultaneously.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Previous meat cutting/trimming experience.
• Previous Culinary knowledge and/or background preferred.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Knowledge of deli as well as meat department operations.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to effectively communicate with, and take direction from supervision.
• Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

• Provides fun, friendly and engaging service
• Actively engage guests through Smokehouse samples and story-selling
• Perform activities outlined in the Pit Master character performance description
• Operate the department according to merchandising and operational standards
• Ensure the quality of product meets Lowes Foods standards
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guest service as necessary
• Maintain HACCP required product information log sheets as necessary
• Perform light meat cutting duties as needed
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management
• Perform PA announcements
