Job summary

Lowes Foods in Clayton, NC is seeking a passionate team member for our Smokehouse department. You will provide fun, engaging service, engage guests with samples, and tell stories to boost guest loyalty.

The role includes meat preparation, cutting, stocking, and maintaining HACCP logs while upholding sanitation standards and department merchandising. You will work with a collaborative team to ensure quality products and friendly guest interactions, with opportunities to grow in a busy retail

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Previous meat cutting/trimming experience.
• Previous culinary knowledge and/or background preferred.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Knowledge of deli and meat department operations.

Responsibilities

• Provides fun, friendly and engaging service
• Actively engage guests through freshly prepared Smokehouse samples and story-selling
• Perform activities outlined in the Pit Master character performance description
• Operate the department according to strict merchandising and operational standards
• Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guest service as necessary to achieve standards
• Maintain HACCP required product information log sheets as necessary
• Perform light meat cutting duties as needed
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management
• Perform PA announcements
