Sargent & Lundy in the United States seeks a Mechanical Designer to develop mechanical general arrangement drawings, piping isometrics, pipe supports and equipment layout in a 3-D model. You will use SmartPlant S3D and SPF to generate deliverables and BOMs, and mentor junior designers.

Under the direction of the Mechanical Project Lead, you’ll lead detailed design coordination, resolve 3D clashes, review vendor drawings, and interface with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complete, timely

Qualifications

• 3+ years of detailed design experience in mechanical plant design.
• Proficiency with 3D plant layout models.
• Experience in review of project deliverables and vendor drawings.
• Ability to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines.

Responsabilités

• Develop mechanical general arrangement drawings, piping isometrics, pipe supports, and equipment layout in a 3-D model.
• Utilize SmartPlant S3D modeling software and SPF database to generate mechanical design deliverables, BOMs, and commodity lists.
• Understand and interpret piping & instrumentation diagrams and create physical designs aligned with engineering requirements.
• Lead mechanical design coordination during detailed design phases across disciplines.
• Resolve clashes and discrepancies in the 3D model and report status.
• Coordinate and provide guidance to designers and project team members for timely design completion.
• Independently plan and execute design of mechanical deliverables.
• Mentor less experienced drafters and designers.
