Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior mechanical designer to develop 3D plant layouts, piping isometrics, and equipment arrangements. You will use AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, and Navisworks to produce design deliverables, BOMs, and catalogs, leading the mechanical team and mentoring junior staff.

Role requires extensive 12+ years in detailed mechanical plant design, with strong coordination across disciplines. The position follows a hybrid schedule with in-office work three days per week, supporting

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D and related toolsets.
• Deep understanding of P&IDs integration with 3D models and clash resolution.
• 12+ years of detailed mechanical plant design and layout experience.
• Ability to lead design teams and mentor junior drafters.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical general arrangement, piping isometrics, and equipment layouts in 3D.
• Generate deliverables, BOMs, and commodity lists using AutoCAD Plant 3D and Revit.
• Coordinate design across disciplines and resolve 3D clashes.
• Lead mechanical design activities and mentor junior staff.
• Ensure in-office collaboration while working on hybrid schedule.
• Review vendor drawings and ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Plan and execute mechanical deliverables and report status.
