Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to develop mechanical layout drawings in a 3D model under the Mechanical Project Lead. You will work with multi-disciplinary engineering and design teams on challenging projects in the power sector.

This role requires extensive experience in mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and supports, plus proficiency with 3D plant layout tools. You will lead design phases, coordinate with other disciplines, mentor junior drafters, and

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in drafting or equivalent tech experience.
• Ten or more years of detailed physical design experience in mechanical general arrangements, piping systems and supports.
• Proficiency with design software tools in executing 3D plant layout models.
• Experience reviewing mechanical equipment outlines and interfaces and delivering related artifacts.
• Ability to interface with multi-disciplinary engineering and design teams in power plant design.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical general arrangements and piping layouts in 3D models.
• Lead mechanical design activities and coordinate detailing phases.
• Coordinate with designers and project teams to ensure timely design delivery.
• Mentor less experienced drafters and designers.
