Job summary

NRG Energy invites field service professionals to join the team in Newport News, VA, delivering installation and service of smart home technology. You’ll build trusted customer relationships and operate with independence across assignments, while earning uncapped commissions on top of base pay.

Expect a four-day, 10-hour schedule with paid drive time, company-provided tools, and ongoing training. You’ll work in a customer-facing, field role that emphasizes safety and quality service.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background investigation and pre-employment drug test.
• Ability to pass all licensing requirements under applicable law.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to act with integrity while building rapport with diverse customers.
• Willingness to learn and use technology.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Install and service smart home security, thermostat and automation systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Educate customers on product features and functionality.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience at every appointment.
• Conduct onsite evaluations to recommend and sell equipment upgrades or service enhancements.
• Maintain quality, safety and installation standards.
• Manage daily appointments, work orders and equipment.
• Identify service recommendations and referral opportunities when appropriate.
