Job summary

Siemens is offering a Building Automation Systems Project Management Internship in the Detroit area for Summer 2027. The program rotates through smart buildings and sustainability sectors, with a strong focus on project management, sales exposure, and service tasks.

It targets undergraduates in technical fields and requires full-time availability for 10 weeks. The role provides hands-on experience in coordinating projects, learning procurement, cost reviews, and cross-department collaboration,

Qualifications

• Must be current enrollment as an undergraduate at an accredited 4-year U.S. college or university.
• Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Energy/Sustainability and Built Environment.
• Ability to work 40-hours per week for the 10-week program (May - July or June - August).
• There is no relocation or housing stipend for this program.
• Eligible candidate must be located within 50 miles of office location with access to a reliable vehicle, as this role does not provide transportation, housing or relocation support.
• This program does not support students on a Visa such as F1, J1, M1 and H1B as well as OPT/CPT.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, drawings, and project-specific documents to establish a project delivery plan.
• Develop and maintain a project schedule, as well as coordinate needs with the project team, identifying time-sensitive installation needs.
• Manage the procurement of supplies and materials to complete projects.
• Participate in project cost reviews.
• Track labor resources and project progress.
• Pursue project-specific change-order opportunities.
• Complete project-specific close-out documentation.
• Rotate through other departments within the branch office to learn about how our branch organization operates as a whole.
