Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commercial Installer to work on-site with our commercial customers, configuring, programming, and commissioning integrated fire and security systems. The role includes dismantling and reconstructing equipment as needed and coordinating with emergency services when required.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 6+ years of electrical/electronic experience, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6+ years electrical and electronic equipment experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate a fleet vehicle safely and responsibly.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install appropriate devices.
• Dismantle and reconstruct equipment as required.
• Work safely to avoid injuries and clean up debris.
• Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.
• Prepares estimates in accordance with supervisor instructions.
• Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
• Tests operation of system and connects to signal-receiving center.
• Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
• Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles emergency notifications records.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
