Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Commercial Installer to work on-site with commercial customers to set up and program Integrated Security fire and security systems. The role includes dismantling and reconstructing equipment when necessary, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

You will read schematics, follow wiring diagrams, coordinate with authorities, and may lead installation teams on larger projects while mentoring junior installers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Some technical school training is a plus.
• 5+ years electrical/electronic equipment experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to safely operate a fleet vehicle.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Installs devices and dismantles/reconstructs equipment as required.
• Ensures safe work practices and cleans up debris.
• Contacts customers to verify installation schedule.
• Prepares estimates per supervisor instructions.
• Follows wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
• Tests system operation and coordinates with monitoring center.
• Reads building/electrical/sprinkler blueprints as needed.
• Coordinates with police/fire and notifies emergency contacts.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coaches and mentors junior installers.
