Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Outdoors. Hot. Cold/refrigerated. Non-smoking. Tasks: Diagnose and isolate faults on engines and motors. Discuss work with supervisor. Document inspections and tests made on engines and motors. Adjust, repair or replace parts using hand tools and equipment. Test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance. Perform scheduled maintenance service on equipment. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Perform other routine maintenance. Keep maintenance reports and documentation. Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work. Service attachments and working tools. Verify and repair emission control systems. Welding experience. Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Attach components and adjust new farm equipment. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Sound discrimination. Standing for extended periods. Overtime required. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Client focus.
