Job summary

UMB Bank is seeking a Small Business Banking Underwriter for a hybrid role across multiple U.S. locations, including Kansas City, MO; Dubuque, IA; and Denver, CO.

The role analyzes financials, conducts cash flow and collateral reviews, and makes credit decisions in line with policy and regulations. The candidate should have 2+ years in commercial lending, a business/finance focus, strong analytical and communication skills, and be comfortable working with bank systems to process loans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or finance preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in commercial lending or related banking.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements.
• Utilize bank systems for loan processing and loan proposal completion.
• Complete underwriting and communicate credit decisions within SLA benchmarks.
• Work with bank associates to facilitate loan closings.
• Manage pipeline of credits and prioritize credit requests.
• Maintain knowledge of lending policies and bank procedures.
