UMB is seeking a Small Business Banking Underwriter to analyze financial statements, perform cash flow and collateral analysis, and render credit decisions within SLA benchmarks. The role supports loan closings and requires collaboration with bank associates across Kansas City, Dubuque, and Denver markets.

A bachelor's degree and 2+ years in commercial lending are preferred, with strong MS Office skills and excellent written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or finance preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in commercial lending.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong accounting and financial statement knowledge.
• Knowledge of SBSS Scoring Model preferred.
• Ability to analyze loan applications for profitable underwriting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements
• Utilize bank systems for loan processing and completion of loan proposal
• Complete underwriting and communicate credit decisions within SLA benchmarks
• Work closely with bank associates to facilitate loan closings
• Manage pipeline of credits and prioritize incoming credit requests and tasks
• Maintain working knowledge and stay current on lending and other bank policies
