Job summary

UMB Bank is seeking a Small Business Banking Underwriter for a hybrid role across multiple locations in the U.S. You will analyze credit requests, perform cash flow, capital and collateral analysis, and render underwriting decisions in line with policy and regulations.

The role collaborates with bank colleagues to move loans to closing, manages a credit pipeline, and stays current on lending policies. Requires a business/finance degree and 2+ years in commercial lending; MS Office proficiency;

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
• Strong understanding of accounting, financial statements and marketing practices.
• Knowledge of SBSS Scoring Model preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements and loan applications to support underwriting decisions.
• Utilize bank systems for loan processing and proposal completion.
• Complete underwriting and communicate credit decisions within SLA benchmarks.
• Collaborate with bank associates to facilitate loan closings.
• Manage pipeline of credits and prioritize requests and tasks.
• Stay current on lending policies and procedures.
