Job summary

Wind Creek Chicago Southland in East Hazel Crest, IL, is hiring a Slot Technician I to maintain the operation of all gaming machines and related equipment.

You will test, diagnose, and repair slot hardware, perform preventive maintenance, and work with guests, co-workers, and vendor technicians to ensure smooth play and service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• One year experience in casino gaming or casino IT department is required, or one year experience with computers/electronics.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and up to 150 lbs with a dolly.
• Must obtain Illinois Gaming Act license and remain in good standing.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze slot equipment performance reports.
• Prepare and test slot machines.
• Perform preventive maintenance on slot machines.
• Move and install machines as needed.
• Diagnose malfunctions and troubleshoot equipment.
• Communicate information to technicians and management.
• Assist guests and coworkers; collaborate with vendor techs.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies.

The Slot Technician I maintains the operational order of all gaming machines and related equipment.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Reviews and analyzes reports related to slot equipment performance
• Prepares and tests slot machines
• Maintains a sense of urgency in responding to calls for assistance or when dispatched
• Conducts scheduled preventive maintenance on all assigned slot machines
• Moves and installs slot machines as needed
• Researches and diagnoses game equipment malfunctions
• Troubleshoots, reads meters, and performs regular maintenance
• Communicates all information to fellow Technicians and Game Management
• Takes initiative to ask for and offer help to guests, co-associates and management
• Works closely with Vendor Technicians
• Adheres to Internal Controls (ICs), Company and Departmental Expectations
• Helps maintain a working inventory of parts and supplies
• Perform the duties and responsibilities associated with the Illinois Gaming Board Statewide Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program
• Other duties & responsibilities as assigned

• High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employment
• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
• One (1) year experience in a casino Gaming or casino IT department– required
  • OR one (1) years’ experience working with computers or electronics– required
• Must be able to lift and maneuver at least 50 lbs
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 150 pounds using a dolly
• Must successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition
• Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
• Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this position.
• Willing and able to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment

Base Pay

• Compensation

  $22.40 – $27.60 per hour, with starting pay based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and skills.
