Job summary

STEELSUMMIT HOLDINGS INC is seeking a dedicated setup operator for our slitting line in a steel manufacturing facility. The role focuses on assembling tooling setups, following PN data, and producing precise widths to meet customer orders.

You will use tape measures, calipers, and micrometers for verification, calibrate tools daily, and input data into setup software. The position requires physical stamina and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
• Capable of lifting 50 pounds and standing on concrete for the shift.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble tooling setups for the slitting line using spacers, knives, and stripper rings.
• Follow part numbers and instructions to determine required widths.
• Use setup software and PN data to create precise shimless setups.
• Measure with tape measure, caliper, and micrometers to match customer specs.
• Calibrate measuring tools daily and record results.
• Enter widths into the software to generate setup information.
• Determine clearance using the provided chart and load master coil to the slitter head.
• Band finished material as needed and maintain 5S standards.
• Assist in training for the next phase of slitter operation.
