Job summary

Paycom in Tennessee seeks a setup technician to prepare the slitting line for customer orders. You will assemble tooling, follow PN data, and create shimless setups using the provided software. Daily calibration and careful measurement ensure widths meet specifications.

You will input data into the computer, uphold 5S standards, and train the next shift operator. The role requires teamwork and strong safety practices in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long shifts in a steel manufacturing setting.
• Must communicate effectively and work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble tooling setups for the slitting line using spacers, knives, and stripper rings.
• Follow PN data and instructions to set required widths for customer orders.
• Use setup software and measurement data to create precise shimless setups.
• Record daily calibration results for tape measure, caliper, and micrometer.
• Input widths and parameters into software to generate setup information.
• Maintain 5S and housekeeping in the work area.
• Initiate training for the next phase of slitter operation.
