Job summary

Kennebec Pharmacy and Home Care in Bangor, ME is seeking a Sleep Coach to educate patients, fit CPAP masks, troubleshoot devices, and provide ongoing support to improve therapy adherence.

This full-time, in-person role Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, offers benefits and the chance to work with a collaborative healthcare team to enhance patient outcomes. You will document interactions in EHR, coordinate with respiratory therapists, and assist patients from referral through continued use.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; additional education in healthcare or related field preferred.
  • Certification as a CPAP Technician or similar is a plus.
  • Experience in healthcare, ideally in sleep medicine or DME.
  • Strong CPAP equipment knowledge, including mask fitting and insurance policies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
  • Knowledge of EHR systems.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills.

  • Charting & Records – Maintain accurate patient records and document progress in EHR.
  • Mask Fitting – Perform custom mask fittings and educate patients on use and care.
  • Machine Assessment – Assess and troubleshoot CPAP machines for proper function.
  • Insurance & Supplies – Understand CPAP insurance policies and help with coverage and claims.
  • Referral Communication – Communicate with healthcare providers and share patient information timely.
  • Therapist Support – Work with respiratory therapists to support patient care and education.
  • Walk-In Support – Provide prompt, professional assistance to walk-in patients.

Salary Range: $20.00 To $24.00 Hourly

As a Sleep Coach, you'll make a meaningful difference by helping patients successfully begin and maintain CPAP therapy through education, equipment fitting, troubleshooting, and ongoing support. You'll work closely with patients and healthcare providers to improve therapy compliance and achieve positive health outcomes.

This is a full-time, in-person, Monday through Friday (8:00 am to 5:00 pm) position located in our new Bangor, Maine location.

Summary of Essential Functions:

  • Charting & Records– Maintain accurate patient records and document all interactions and therapy progress in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Mask Fitting – Perform custom mask fittings, educate patients on proper use and care, and ensure appropriate mask selection to support successful CPAP therapy.
  • Machine Assessment– Assess and troubleshoot CPAP machines for proper function and resolve technical issues.
  • Insurance & Supplies– Understand CPAP-related insurance policies, help patients navigate coverage and claims, and ensure supply eligibility documentation.
  • Referral Communication– Communicate clearly with healthcare providers and ensure timely sharing of referral and patient information.
  • Therapist Support– Work with respiratory therapists to support patient care and education.
  • Walk-In Support– Provide prompt, professional assistance to walk-in patients for inquiries, equipment, and support needs.
