Job summary

Join DABS, Inc. as a Skills Instructor to provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities and to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in developing independence.

You will accompany individuals on community outings, track progress with concise notes, and collaborate with a professional team to ensure comprehensive support. Training is provided; CPR and TB tests can be arranged if needed.

Qualifications

• A caring heart and a commitment to helping others live with dignity and independence.
• Willingness to undergo a state and federal fingerprint background check.
• CPR Certification and a recent TB test (we can help you obtain both if needed)
• A valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insurance
• Reliable transportation to and from work

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities
• Support individuals in accessing community resources, planning engaging activities, and strengthening their skill sets
• Take individuals on community outings—whether for appointments, errands, or just to enjoy the day
• Track and document progress, capturing accurate and concise case notes
• Redirect inappropriate behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions to challenges.
• Work collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support
