Job summary

RedGuard, a leader in modular safe structures, seeks a Skilled Welder I to fabricate, weld, and install steel components for blast-resistant buildings. You will work with cranes, torches, plasma, and welding machines to meet AWS standards and support on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates have vocational welding training, experience with structural steel and blueprints, ability to read tape measures, and a commitment to safety in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with structural steel welding.
• Proficient in industry-standard welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and product specifications accurately.
• Solid basic math skills including reading a tape measure.
• Skilled with common hand and power tools (grinders, squares, torches, plasma cutters).
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Must pass 3G/4G welding certifications within 3 weeks with no more than 3 attempts.

Responsibilities

• Welds components in flat, vertical and overhead positions.
• Assists daily fit up and layout duties.
• Fabricates pieces conforming to specifications and blueprints.
• Minimizes scrap and rework; aims for quality improvements.
• Maintains schedules and budgets for tasks and projects.
• Cross-trains and uses multiple trade skills as assigned.
• Follows safety and security rules; keeps a clean work area.
