Qualico Steel Company, Inc. is seeking a Structural Steel Welder to join our fabrication team. You will weld structural steel components according to drawings, weld procedures, and our quality standards to support safe, efficient assembly on projects.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, selecting materials, and welding per layouts, while adhering to safety rules, completing overtime as needed, and passing an onsite weld test. Excellent attendance and precision are essential.

Job description

The Structural Steel Welder is responsible for welding structural steel components in accordance with approved drawings, weld procedures, and quality standards. This role supports safe, efficient fabrication of steel assemblies while meeting project specifications and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabrication of structural steel.
• Comprehend specifications and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequence.
• Follow detailed instructions, processes and procedures.
• Position, align, fit and weld parts in accordance to blueprints and layout specifications.
• Must always be in full PPE and adhering to all safety regulations.

Required Qualifications:

Must pass an onsite weld test.

Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.

Must be able to operate an overhead crane and forklift.

Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 70 pounds.

Must have basic math skills.

Must be punctual and possess a strong work ethic.

Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as necessary.

Must be willing to submit to a drug screen.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work on a fabrication shop floor with exposure to noise and heat.

Requires standing, lifting, and moving steel components regularly.
