Job summary

Red Dot Buildings is seeking an experienced welder to produce strong, clean welds in a structural steel fabrication environment. You will follow weld maps, procedures, and quality standards to ensure components perform well at the jobsite.

Qualifications

• Welding experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or structural steel environments.
• Ability to produce accurate, consistent welds of high quality.
• Experience reading weld maps, fabrication drawings, or work instructions.
• Familiarity with weld symbols and Welding Procedure Specifications.
• Knowledge of joint preparation and fit-up requirements.
• Experience setting up and adjusting welding equipment.

Responsibilities

• Weld clips, connection plates, and other components onto structural steel members.
• Perform welds per specifications, including AWS D1.1 and D1.3.
• Follow weld maps/Welding Procedure Specifications for weld size, type, location, and sequence.
• Inspect fit-up before welding and identify concerns.
• Set up and calibrate welding equipment.
• Inspect completed welds for quality and compliance with standards.
• Clean beams and remove weld spatter for paint shop preparation.
• Safely operate overhead cranes and rigging equipment.
• Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance.
