Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services in Baytown, TX seeks a skilled welder to lay out, align and weld fabricated components to assemble machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, buildings and pipe according to blueprints.

You will use various welding processes, follow safety rules, read plans, and ensure proper fit, quality and precision. This on-site role offers hands-on work and career growth in a heavy-industrial environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with related field experience.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Works under immediate supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe or other related materials and equipment according to specifications.
• Plans layouts and welding, applying knowledge of geometry and welding techniques.
• May use Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, Gas-Tungsten Arc, Submerged Arc, or Shielded Metal Arc welding processes.
• Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components together in various body positions.
• Bolts, clamps and welds metal components of products using arc welding equipment; may weld in multiple positions.
