Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking skilled welders for long-term maintenance projects in Texas. The role requires proficiency in SMAW, GTAW and GMAW, capability to certify and interpret blueprints, and safe operation of welding equipment across various positions.

Qualifications

• Capable of certifying on multi-process pipe and proficient in SMAW, GTAW and GMAW welding.
• Experience with welding according to blueprints and metallurgy for pipe, tanks, shells and structural components.
• Familiar with welding procedures, alignment, and fit-up in various positions.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe or related materials according to specifications.
• Plans layouts, assembly and welding using knowledge of geometry and metal properties.
• May use SMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW or GMAW processes as required by the job.
• Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components for welding.
• Welds components in various positions and ensures bead quality and specifications.
• Sets up welding equipment and controls amperage, voltage and pulse as required.
• Inspects welds and performs basic maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Supports safety and project rules and performs other duties as needed.
