Job summary

The New Bern Housing Authority is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to uphold safe, clean, and well-maintained properties in New Bern, NC. You will respond to resident requests, perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems, and coordinate with management to complete work orders and inspections.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, 4+ years in building maintenance or skilled trade, and a valid NC driver's license.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of maintenance or skilled trades experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests.
• Complete work orders accurately and timely.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, equipment, and systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Repair doors, windows, flooring, drywall, roofing components, gutters, and related building elements.
• Paint, masonry, and carpentry repairs.
• Maintain grounds and common areas; debris removal and upkeep.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE; participate in on-call rotations.
