City of New Bern is seeking a semiskilled maintenance worker to repair and construct buildings, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, streets, and drainage facilities. The role involves carpentry, painting, masonry, concrete work and operating various trucks and equipment.

Applicants should have high school diploma or equivalent, and experience in maintenance or construction. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, work outdoors in all weathers, and follow both oral and written instructions; CDL may

• Thorough knowledge of maintenance, repair and manual tasks.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and shovel soil/stone.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Responsabilidades

• Performs carpentry, painting, masonry and concrete work.
• Operates bucket truck, pickup, flat-bed truck and other equipment.
• Determines supplies and orders replacement parts.
• Repairs sidewalks, curbs, gutters and drainage facilities.
• May be required to work outside normal hours in an emergency.
