Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of formal training or experience in two or more building maintenance trades (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting).
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with residents, staff, contractors and visitors.
• Ability to work well with older adults.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting systems.
• Complete work orders, document actions, and obtain supervisor sign-off when incomplete.
• Assist with resident move-ins, including hanging pictures and setting up utilities and services.
• Refurbish vacated apartments and ensure appliances and systems are functional.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed and operate maintenance radio as assigned.
