Pay Range: $27.00 - $37.00/hour

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, directing, and evaluating the nursing care provided to residents. Duties include preparing, delivering, and documenting medications and treatments for residents, noting changes in condition, unusual occurrences, weekly summaries, initial assessments, MDS assessments, and ensuring thorough and legible documentation. The role involves notifying physicians and responsible parties of any changes and ensuring compliance with current federal, state, and local standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Follow facility policies, procedures, and federal/state regulations.
  2. Participate in the facility's quality management program.
  3. Follow oral and written instructions accurately.
  4. Keep supervisors informed of work priorities and issues.
  5. Respond appropriately to emergencies and disasters.
  6. Provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  7. Ensure security to prevent wandering and implement elopement procedures if residents leave without permission.
  8. Adhere to customer service standards.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of residents and work-related issues.
  10. Treat all residents with respect and dignity.
  11. Follow facility rules of conduct.
  12. Attend required in-service training annually and participate in external classes as appropriate.
  13. Notify supervisors promptly of illnesses or absences.
  14. Attend assigned facility meetings.
  15. Follow dress code policies.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Perform nursing care according to current standards for long-term care.
  • Interact effectively with residents, visitors, staff, physicians, and volunteers.
  • Have knowledge of State and Federal laws governing Long Term Care.
  • Communicate clearly in English, both written and spoken.
  • Respond appropriately to cultural diversity.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATES

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Charge nurse experience is preferred.
  • Licensed as an LVN to practice in California.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
