Pay Range: $27.00 - $37.00/hour

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, directing, and evaluating the nursing care provided to residents. Tasks include medication and treatment preparation, delivery, and documentation; monitoring changes in residents’ conditions; and ensuring compliance with current federal, state, and local standards. Must notify physicians and responsible parties of any significant changes with proper documentation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Follow facility policies, procedures, and regulations.
  2. Participate in the facility's quality management program.
  3. Follow oral and written instructions accurately.
  4. Keep supervisors informed of work priorities and issues.
  5. Respond appropriately to emergencies and disasters.
  6. Provide a safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
  7. Ensure security to prevent wandering and implement elopement procedures if needed.
  8. Adhere to customer service standards.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of residents and work-related information.
  10. Treat all residents with respect and dignity.
  11. Follow facility rules of conduct.
  12. Attend required in-service trainings annually and participate in external educational opportunities as appropriate.
  13. Notify supervisors promptly of illnesses or absences.
  14. Attend scheduled facility meetings.
  15. Dress appropriately according to the dress code.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Perform nursing care according to current community standards for long-term care.
  • Effectively interact with residents, visitors, staff, physicians, and volunteers.
  • Have knowledge of State and Federal laws governing Long Term Care.
  • Communicate clearly in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Respond appropriately to cultural diversity.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATES

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Charge nurse experience preferred.
  • Licensed LVN in California.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
