Job summary

Gulf Island LLC in Houma, LA, is seeking an Assembler to support fabrication and assembly of enclosure components. You will weld, fit panels, prep parts for welding, and read drawings to ensure accuracy and quality in a fast‑paced production environment.

Applicants should have MIG welding experience, basic measurement skills, and the ability to work outdoors in varied conditions. Training is provided for cranes and safety protocols; pre-employment checks are required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in welding, fabrication or mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment
• Basic proficiency with MIG welding
• Must be able to read and use a tape measure
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions with exposure to fumes and need for respiratory protection
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on enclosure components by following drawings and trained procedures
• Perform basic mechanical assembly, including fitting panels, installing hardware and prepping components for welding or final assembly
• Read and follow blueprints, drawings and work instructions to determine weld and assembly requirements
• Complete tasks for roofs, doors and sub-assemblies (RDS) to support smooth production flow and ensure components meet dimensional and quality requirements
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and maintain workflow
• Setup and teardown welding / assembly workstations
