Job summary

Gulf Island is seeking an Assembler to support the fabrication and assembly of enclosure frames, panels and subassemblies. You will perform basic welding, fit-up and mechanical assembly tasks following drawings and procedures.

You'll read blueprints, prepare components for welding, and work with the team to meet daily production goals in outdoor environments, with PPE and safety requirements emphasized.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in welding, fabrication or mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic proficiency with MIG welding.
• Must be able to read and use a tape measure.
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions with exposure to fumes and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on enclosure components by following drawings and procedures.
• Perform basic mechanical assembly, including fitting panels and hardware.
• Read and follow blueprints to determine weld and assembly requirements.
• Complete tasks for roofs, doors and sub-assemblies to support production flow.
• Assist with material movement using overhead cranes.
• Conduct visual weld checks and report defects.
