Assembly Welders - Manufacturing & Enclosure Fabrication - Houma, LA

Gulf Island is seeking Assembly Welders for their manufacturing operations in Houma, Louisiana. These professionals will support the fabrication and assembly of enclosure components, performing welding, fit-up, and mechanical assembly tasks. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work in varying outdoor conditions. This is a great opportunity for welders with at least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Need

• 1+ years experience in welding, fabrication or mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment
• Basic proficiency with MIG welding
• Ability to read and use a tape measure
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid, wet, dry, dust, mud, etc.)
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing
• Turning, twisting, bending and balancing
• Pushing, pulling and reaching
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

What Will Make You Stand Out

• Exposure to TIG or Stick welding
• Welding certifications (e.g., AWS/ASME) or technical school coursework
• Previous experience with generator enclosure assembly
• Previous experience in Roofs, Doors and Sub-assembly (RDS)
