Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Meat Cutter responsible for cutting, displaying, and selling beef, pork, lamb, and poultry. You will maintain quality, support sampling, and ensure a clean, sanitary environment while providing courteous service to customers.

You will train and mentor staff, handle knives safely, and follow health and safety guidelines. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, standing most of the day, and flexible scheduling including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• At least 14 months of retail meat experience.
• Completion of WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or equivalent training.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry).
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (sausage, oven ready products, cured meats).
• Checks product to meet WFM quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Monitors and assists in preventing spoilage.
• Mentors and supports Meat Cutter Trainee(s).
• Arrives on time, groomed, and ready to work; attends trainings and meetings.
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques.
