Job summary

Leevers Supermarkets, Inc. is seeking a Meat Cutter to support the Meat Department under the Store Manager. You will cut and prepare varying meat products, stock displays, and ensure quality and freshness in a fast-paced retail setting.

You will handle meat processing tasks, maintain sanitation, and provide excellent customer service while adhering to Leevers policies and standards. This role may be assigned to more than one store, as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of meat-cutting experience with hand tools and power equipment.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent Customer Service and Leadership Skills.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Dependable and flexible.
• Must adhere to uniform dress code.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and display meat cuts to be attractive and appealing to customers.
• Assist Meat Manager in maintaining adequate inventory levels for meat products and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with city codes, health regulations, and weights and measures standards.
• Cut and process meat including breaking, boning, chorizo production, and grinding as required.
• Ensure freshness and high product quality.
• Use knives and power tools to cut and package meat according to Leevers policies.
• Keep displays and case signs updated and merchandised to maximize sales.
• Rotate stock per policy and manage dating for products in display and storage.
• Wrap, weigh, and price cuts; label packages per COOL, USDA, and Leevers standards.
• Receive, inspect, and store meat on delivery to maintain cold chain and quality.
• Maintain sanitation and a safe environment for customers and employees.
• Build positive working relationships with colleagues and customers.
