Job summary

TEAM Industrial Services in Alvin, TX is seeking a skilled machinist to operate lathes, milling machines and grinders to produce precision parts and instruments. You will review engineering specifications, select tools, materials and the sequence of cutting operations, and verify finished work against tolerances.

Ideal candidates have experience with manual lathes or turret lathes, can read calipers and micrometers, and can provide their own hand tools as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with manual lathes, vertical turret lathe or horizontal boring mills required.
• Ability to read calipers and micrometers preferred.
• Ability to provide all hand tools as needed to complete daily tasks specified by the Shop Foreman.

Responsibilities

• Operate lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce precision parts.
• Review work orders and determine tools, materials, and cutting sequence.
• Measure, examine and test completed units to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Align and secure fixtures, tools, attachments, and materials on machines.
• Monitor the accuracy of machining work.
• Follow safety standards and TEAM's core values.
