Job description

Position Title: Maintenance Technician

Salary: $56,160-$66,560 per year

Shift: 2nd + 3rd

Hours: 2:45pm-11:00pm (Mon-Fri); 11:00pm-7:00am (Sun-Thurs)

QPS Employment Group has a great Maintenance Technician position available at a company in Rockford, IL. This is a 2nd and 3rd shift, direct hire position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Support packaging lines by making routine and non-routine adjustments to ensure high-quality products.
2. Collaborate with other departments and Maintenance Mechanics to keep lines running efficiently.
3. Perform preventive maintenance, changeovers, repairs, and adjustments.
4. Gather, analyze, and interpret data to identify issues and develop solutions.
5. Communicate effectively to gain support and share ideas ethically.
6. Diagnose and resolve problems, preventing recurrence.
7. Provide guidance and training to others.
8. Use hand and power tools for maintenance tasks.
9. Report faulty operations, defective materials, and unusual situations.
10. Read and interpret manuals and work orders.
11. May require overtime, weekend work, and use of PPE and PAPR.
12. Adhere to PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies.
13. Escalate safety, quality, or downtime issues promptly.
14. Perform SMED activities on packaging lines.
15. Support OPEX initiatives and analyze equipment failures for reliability.
16. Update setup documentation and coordinate product launches or validations.
17. Maintain a high level of 5S in the facility.
18. Document actions and audit systems for sustainability and productivity.
19. Participate in Tier I DDS meetings, providing feedback and follow-up on outages.

Requirements:

1. Skill testing at the approved grade level for the role.
2. At least 2-3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in manufacturing, or a 2-year Technical School.
3. Basic math and computer skills, including operating common programs.
4. Effective communication skills for participation in various conversations.
5. High reasoning ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
6. Ability to interpret various instructions in different formats.
