Position Summary

The Procedural Service Technician acts as a Trusted Advisor to STERIS Customers in maintenance and procurement of medical devices and consumables as part of a high-performing team. This position provides on-site preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, equipment modifications, and installation support on all operating room equipment (OR integration, lights, tables, video technology, warming cabinets, System 1e) in a high-stress healthcare environment. It also involves proactive customer interaction, communication, and utilizing technology for administrative tasks, troubleshooting, and improving customer experience.

This is a remote, customer-facing position. Candidates must be based in Pennsylvania or New Jersey.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drive customer satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution.
  2. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on STERIS and related equipment, including disassembly, repair, troubleshooting, and calibration.
  3. Conduct customer training and in-servicing on equipment.
  4. Ensure positive customer experiences through installations, site visits, and coordination with project teams.
  5. Use technology (smartphone, laptop) for administrative duties, documentation, and communication.
  6. Establish effective relationships with customers and internal teams, communicate scheduling and service updates, and resolve issues proactively.
  7. Identify sales opportunities and promote STERIS products/services.
  8. Follow hospital and OR protocols, including safety guidelines.
  9. Assist with inventory management and procurement activities.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 1-2 years of technical field service experience in healthcare or equivalent training.
  • Knowledge of personal computers, video technology, and networking.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
  • Proficiency with Windows, troubleshooting, and customer communication.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with OR medical devices, surgical equipment, OR integration, and technology.
