Job summary

Connecticut College is seeking a Groundskeeper to perform skilled landscape and hardscape maintenance on a historic campus and athletic fields. You will participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies as needed, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include maintaining decorative features, turf areas, and equipment, while following OSHA standards and campus procedures. A valid driver’s license and CMMS experience are required.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of general experience in a trade area.
• Knowledge of plants used in landscape features and proper plant care.
• Basic knowledge of turf grass management.
• Basic knowledge of pesticides and application methods.
• Interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to use CMMS software.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, install and maintain decorative landscaping features including plants and waterscapes.
• Clear brush, debris and leaves from lawns and catch basins.
• Operate and maintain landscape equipment and perform basic repairs.
• Maintain turf, sports fields, and irrigation where applicable.
• Adhere to OSHA requirements and campus policies.
