Job summary

Western Connecticut State University is seeking a full-time Landscape Technician to maintain grounds and athletic fields across Midtown and Westside campuses. The role requires readiness to work outdoors in varying weather and during inclement conditions.

Responsibilities include gardening, turf care, irrigation maintenance, and assisting event setups. A valid driver's license is required, and a background check will be conducted prior to employment.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in landscape maintenance.
• One (1) year of experience includes plant selection, pruning, fertilization, and seeding of turf grasses.
• Incumbents must possess and retain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
• A medical exam, drug screen, and criminal background check will be required prior to offer of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds and athletic fields on campus.
• Perform snow removal and pre-treatment duties.
• Install, maintain and repair landscaping features, irrigation and turf systems.
• Operate and maintain landscape equipment and power tools.
• Assist with events setup and campus beautification tasks.
