Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Dockworker to efficiently load and unload freight at our Fort Smith service center.

You will use forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual methods to move items, ensuring proper securing of loads and accuracy in handling shipments. As part of the OD Family, you will follow DOT guidelines and internal processes, read labels, and coordinate with service center staff to maintain on-time deliveries and safe operations.

Qualifications

• Must understand safe lifting procedures and proper freight handling.
• Familiarity with shipping labels and freight forms like bills and manifests.
• Ability to operate a forklift and hand pallet jack.
• Comfort with Dock Yard Management System for location tracking.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using forklift, pallet jack, or manual methods.
• Secure freight inside trailers with straps and airbags to prevent damage.
• Read shipping labels and complete freight movement forms as needed.
• Maintain safety and efficiency in a fast-paced service center.
