Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Dock Worker/Forklift Operator to safely load and unload freight and support warehouse operations. You will use forklift and manual techniques to move goods, secure cargo, and verify correct items on trucks, contributing to on-time deliveries.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork within a fast-paced service center environment, with full-time hours and an emphasis on reliability and adherence to DOT guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• Must have working knowledge of safe lifting and transporting procedures.
• Knowledge of loading techniques (tight load, cross loading).
• Ability to complete freight movement forms (shipping orders, manifests, freight bills).
• Proficiency with dock yard management system for tracking shipments.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using forklift or manual methods in line with DOT guidelines.
• Transport freight within the service center and monitor locations using the Yard management system.
• Read shipping labels and complete freight movement documents as needed.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope and airbags.
• Ensure quality loading of trailers and maintain safety throughout the shift.
