Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Dockworker to efficiently load and unload freight, securing items for safe transit and ensuring accurate deliveries.

This role requires operating forklifts and pallet jacks, reading shipping labels, and maintaining safe, compliant procedures across shifts. The Dockworker will interact with service center staff, support overall warehouse operations, and uphold OD's commitment to safety, accuracy, and customer service in a fast-paced

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent required.
Experience with freight handling and loading/unloading procedures preferred.
Familiarity with shipping forms and yard management system beneficial.

Responsibilities

Load and unload freight on trailers using forklift, pallet jack, or by hand.
Secure freight with straps, airbags, and proper packaging.
Monitor shipment locations using the Dock Yard Management System.
Read shipping labels and applicable freight documents.
Ensure safe, accurate loading and unloading to protect deliveries.
