Job summary

Solitude Mountain Resort in Utah is seeking a Ski & Ride School Manager to oversee the ski & ride school in winter and the mountain bike school and adventure park programs in summer.

You will support frontline leaders, ensure high-quality lesson products, manage payroll, training, staffing, and safety, and collaborate with the Snowsports Director and other departments to align budgets and guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Hospitality, Business Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5 years in a leadership role within a ski & ride school or outdoor recreation environment.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with empathy and fairness.
• Exceptional communication across 1:1, group, and cross-functional settings.
• In-depth knowledge of ski school operations, safety procedures, and best practices.
• Proficiency with MS Office, SharePoint, and HRIS/CMS/LMS tools.
• Level 2 PSIA/AASI or equivalent snow sports instruction required; Level 3 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate a team of supervisors to oversee on-hill and indoor staff.
• Lead and supervise all functions of the ski school, including scheduling and inventory.
• Recruit, train, and manage supervisors, instructors, and support staff.
• Uphold a guest-centric approach, monitor guest experience metrics, and address issues.
• Work with IT, mountain ops, sales, and rentals to enhance employee experience and guest engagement.
• Draft revenue, labor, and expense budgets with the Snowsports Director.
