Job summary

AIS Infrastructure is seeking a Site Safety Manager to ensure the safety of all employees and contractors on construction and industrial service projects. You will develop and enforce safety standards, train staff, and investigate incidents to drive continuous safety improvements.

The role requires extensive OSHA knowledge, experience with heavy civil projects, and the ability to obtain security clearance for access to secured facilities. Travel to project sites will be necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in safety programs and site safety management.
• Experience managing safety for federal design-build projects (>$5M)
• Strong familiarity with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 construction safety regulations.
• Experience with heavy civil/horizontal construction safety exposures (excavation, earth moving, concrete, underground utilities).
• Ability to obtain security clearance for secured facilities, including military bases.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and related safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs compliant with regulations.
• Conduct safety inspections and audits to identify hazards.
• Collaborate with project managers to embed safety into project plans.
• Provide safety training and orientation to staff and contractors.
• Investigate accidents and near-misses and report findings with corrective actions.
• Maintain records of inspections, training, incidents, and communications.
• Conduct job hazard analyses for tasks and sites.
• Monitor and improve safety program effectiveness and compliance.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
• Coordinate with regulators, clients, and stakeholders to ensure safety requirements are met.
