Ames Construction, Inc. is seeking a Project Safety Manager to lead safety programs on heavy civil projects. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and align with company safety standards to protect workers on site.

The role requires proactive, detail-oriented leadership, ability to inspect sites, train teams, investigate incidents, and document actions. Experience in heavy civil construction and knowledge of OSHA rules are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of safety experience in heavy civil construction.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
• Certifications such as CSP, CHST, or OSHA 30 are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific safety plans.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for project personnel.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; prepare reports and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to integrate safety into all phases.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation and records; serve as primary contact on site.
