Job summary

Engel Excavating LLC is seeking a Safety Director to lead the safety program, developing proactive protocols and driving a culture of safety across our Midwest sitework operations. You will implement training, manage safety communications, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include incident investigation, corrective actions, and collaboration with HR, Superintendents, and fleet for DOT permits and safety controls.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years related safety leadership experience in construction.
• OSHA Certification required.
• Confined Space, HAZWOPER, DOT, and MSHA training.
• Bachelor's degree in safety & health related discipline preferred.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Engel’s safety program, creating, maintaining, and updating proactive safety protocols.
• Investigate safety incidents, near misses, and property damage; identify root causes; implement corrective actions, communication, and training.
• Perform in-house training related to site safety and safety regulations.
• Maintain OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 records; assist with regulatory reporting.
• Monitor PPE requirements and assist with safety-related documentation.
