Job summary

Penske Logistics LLC is seeking a Safety Specialist to coach and mentor location drivers toward an accident-free, regulation-compliant work environment. The role requires flexibility for afternoon/evening hours a few nights monthly to support shifts and driver issues.

Responsibilities include monitoring safety metrics, coordinating audits, handling accidents, and conducting monthly facility inspections, with additional safety projects as assigned. Strong leadership and BCSP/OSHA basics preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's preferred.
• 1+ years in Health & Safety or Operations Management with leadership.
• Certified Safety Professional per BCSP or OSHA 10+ years of safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor driver safety metrics and ensure compliance with safety programs.
• Coach and mentor drivers to maintain accident-free operations.
• Coordinate driver qualification files and DOT/Safety audits.
• Respond to accidents: scene assessment, photo capture, interviews, documentation and post-accident follow-up.
• Perform monthly facility inspections and safety-related projects.
• Support ongoing safety initiatives and cross-functional safety communications.
