Job summary

LSB Industries, Inc. in Cherokee, AL seeks a Safety Specialist to provide on-site support and lead the Safety & Security program. You will collaborate with the Safety & Security team and report to the Safety Manager, delivering training and hands-on safety guidance to all site personnel.

You will drive accountability through metrics, audits, and annual planning, champion core values, and ensure a proactive safety culture across operations, maintenance, and supervision.

Qualifications

• Proficient with OSHA laws and regulations applicable to site safety.
• Ability to develop and deliver safety training to site personnel.
• Experience coordinating safety programs and audits and closing action items.
• Strong communication and teamwork to support a Safety-first culture.

Responsibilities

• Assist in data gathering to support metrics and reporting of progress and opportunities.
• Execute annual H&S plan with clear, transparent measures and accountability.
• Support the Safety Committee and build relations with operations and supervision.
• Maintain connections to operations and site activities to ensure safety coverage.
• Develop expertise in plant systems to address findings and remove barriers to progress.
• Own safety areas: equipment inspection, fire water systems, rail safety, asbestos management, radio management, and safety audits.
• Coordinate PPE, forms, and other safety equipment needs.
• Manage air monitoring devices and ensure equipment availability for the team.
• Support emergency response capability through training, drills, and equipment maintenance.
