Job summary

Monarch Steel Company of Alabama, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist to develop, implement, and oversee safety programs across multiple service center locations. The role emphasizes OSHA compliance, incident prevention, and promoting a strong safety culture with operations teams.

You will lead hazard analyses, provide training on LOTO, forklift and PPE, and coordinate inspections while traveling regionally 25–50% to ensure consistent safety practices and regulatory adherence across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred.
• 3–5+ years of safety experience in manufacturing, steel, or heavy industrial environments.
• Multi-site experience is a strong plus.
• Steel industry knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs across multiple locations.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA) and promote safety culture.
• Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, and JSAs.
• Train employees on LOTO, PPE, crane operation, and safety practices.
• Investigate incidents and drive corrective actions with operations teams.
• Coordinate regulatory inspections and safety audits.
• Lead safety committees and maintain safety records.
