Job summary

Scientific Games is seeking an experienced Tech Ops Engineer to provide Tier 2 production support for real-time lottery platforms and interactive services. The role emphasizes DevOps, automation, and reliability engineering across Linux, Windows, and cloud environments.

You will support 24/7 operations, CI/CD releases, IaC, and hybrid-cloud deployments, with an emphasis on security, observability, and incident response. Montreal/Winnipeg locations or remote options may apply.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of operational, DevOps, cloud or production support experience for enterprise-scale platforms.
• Experience in transactional, high-availability environments such as lottery or financial services is a plus.
• Strong Linux/Windows system administration and patching skills.
• Proficient in CI/CD, IaC, and release engineering concepts.
• Solid database knowledge across PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and MySQL.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
• Ability to work across geographies and communicate clearly under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2 production support for real-time transaction platforms, triage incidents, and coordinate escalations with Tier 3, development, QA, vendors, and operations.
• Support 24x7 on-call operations, planned maintenance windows, deployments, and DR tests.
• Install, configure, patch, harden, and lifecycle-manage Linux and Windows servers (Ubuntu LTS, RHEL).
• Automate tasks using Bash, Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, SQL, CloudFormation.
• Support AWS or hybrid-cloud operations including EC2, RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL, S3, IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch.
• Contribute to CI/CD and release engineering, including blue/green and canary deployments and rollback planning.
• Monitor system and DB health, logs, performance metrics, and generate incident reports.
• Coordinate PostgreSQL/DBA activities: backups, restores, capacity planning, and auditing.
